Health Program
Ho`ola Pono O Papakōlea
Providing health maintenance and preventive services to people
of Papakōlea with the assistance and support of community leaders
will serve to identify and introduce those in need of such care.
In addition, the primary physician will be a Native Hawaiian Scholar
providing health screening and through outreach efforts, patients
will establish contact and hopefully maintain continuity with
seeking healthcare through the full service center intent on serving
homesteaders in fairness and with dignity. Papakōlea believes
the wellness of the Native Hawaiian community can be effectively
achieved by working in direct partnership with kauka.
The purpose of this program is to provide clinical services in
community through services at the community center and house calls
to improve the number of community members accessing. In addition,
to improve the general health condition of the residents in this
homestead community outreach will be providing improved access
to prevention services. The collection of health data as_____ which will
be an essential part of the success of this project.
