In 2016, the Papakōlea Community Development Corporation (PCDC) created its first summer youth program – Kupua‘e. The program is designed to serve the keiki of Papakōlea, ages 3-10, through the use of Hawaiian language and culture-based programming. This year, the Summer program will begin on June 12th, and end on July 27th. This program was designed to serve the keiki of Papakōlea, thus priority is given to the keiki that reside in the Hawaiian homestead communities of Papakōlea, Kewalo and Kalāwahine. The registration fee for each keiki is $100. Enrollment will close on May 31st.
Kupua‘e is made possible through support from Kula No Nā Po‘e Hawai‘i, Kamehameha Schools, Lincoln Elementary School, Hawaii Hotel Industry Foundation, Aloha United Way, CNHA’s Hawaiian Way Fund, and PCDC. Mahalo nui to all partners and community members for making Kupua‘e a reality.
